Job Responsibilities

We offer a varied and challenging job, working alongside others but with significant personal responsibility. The information security work within Region Västmanland is led by the information security strategist, supported by information security coordinators, lawyers, IT security specialists, etc. As an information security specialist, you will work as an expert, including investigations, documentation, training, and proposals for internal governance documents. You will provide important support for strategic information security work and be a key part of various working groups focused on information security and data protection.

Other tasks may also occur within the framework of the role of information security specialist.

Your organizational placement will be within the Legal and Information Security department, which is part of the regional office administration. Legal and Information Security is a unit within the central organization called Regionstaben. The unit consists of seven lawyers, one information security strategist, and one information security coordinator/DSO. Within other administrations, there are information security representatives and IT security specialists.

Qualifications

To be suitable for the position, you need to have qualified expertise in information security, data protection, and security protection. You have education in information security at the university level or equivalent. You need to have very good knowledge of the ISO/IEC 27000 series as well as the Act on Information Security for Essential and Digital Services (NIS Directive), the Cybersecurity Act (NIS2 Directive), and the CER Directive. Experience in information security work within public administration, supervisory work, and experience with crisis preparedness related to information security is an advantage.

You belong to the Legal and Information Security department, but a large part of the work is also conducted in collaboration with other departments within Region Västmanland, and the work places high demands on your ability to consider the best interests of the entire organization and to collaborate.

In addition to your formal knowledge and qualifications, we place great importance on your personal qualities, such as your ability to provide well-founded and thoughtful advice based on a solution-focused and attentive approach. Since the tasks are varied and qualified, you need to have good judgment and be able to prioritize well. Employment Conditions

Permanent employment, full-time, and daytime. Start date according to agreement. The position allows for partial remote work when the needs of the organization permit.

The position may become security classified, and in connection with the appointment of the position, a security review may be relevant according to the Security Protection Act. Thus, the position requires Swedish citizenship.
